Timberland Q4 Profit Up 14% On Strong Footwear Sales
Apparel manufacturer Timberland Co has reported strong fourth-quarter results following a hike in international footwear sales.
Fourth-quarter profit increased 13.9 per cent to $45 million from $39.5m in the same quarter last year.
Sales rose 9 per cent to $454.7m from $415.4m, boosted by a 10 per cent rise in footwear sales.
Full-year net income increased to $152.7m from $117.9m last year, while revenue rose 12 per cent to $1.5 billion from $1.34bn.
Timberland's president and chief executive officer, Jeffrey Swartz, said the company was aiming for low to mid single-digit revenue growth for the 2005 trading year.
